What kind of courses do you offer?

We offer online and on-site courses in philosophy, psychoanalysis, culture, and the arts. Our on-site courses currently take place in Gdynia, Poland. Online options include both live courses and pre-recorded courses. See our course catalogue for details.

Can I earn a degree or diploma at Ereignis Institute?

Ereignis Institute is not yet formally recognised by an accrediting body and cannot grant university degrees. Students who successfully complete our courses can request a diploma issued by us. When combined, courses form a coherent programme of study that demonstrates sustained engagement with our curriculum.

What assignments are required to complete a course?

Each course lists its requirements on the course page. We generally set only a minimal number of required tasks, allowing students to engage in the way that best suits their learning style.

Are lectures recorded?

We offer both pre-recorded courses and live courses. Our events and live courses are, in general, recorded; recordings from our events may be published on our video page or as unlisted videos on YouTube. See our Terms and Policies for details, including how to preserve your anonymity on a live feed.

Can I take more than one course at a time?

Yes, if you are able to follow the recommended progression. Our courses come with reading lists and optional assignments to help guide your study.

2. Enrolment & Studies

How do I join a course?

Our pre-recorded courses are open to all members. Become a member by registering, or, if you are already registered and logged in, by upgrading to membership via account settings. Access the course materials by going to the course page and pressing the Start button, and learn in your own time and at your own pace.

Our live courses are bundled into Learning modules. When you register for a module you get access to all the component courses in that module. We confirm your enrolment upon receipt of payment.

Are there prerequisites or language requirements?

Generally, no. Our courses are suitable for anyone with an interest in philosophy, psychoanalysis, or the arts. All instruction is in English, so a good command of the language is necessary. However, we recommend checking the course description for prerequisites or suggested prior knowledge for each course as a guide to assist you in getting the most out of the course.

Can I study while enrolled elsewhere?

Yes. Many students take our courses alongside degree programmes at other institutions, where our courses can complement and enrich their studies.

Can I study without a background in philosophy or the arts?

Yes. A genuine interest in the subject is more important than prior formal training. Recommended prior knowledge is listed on each course page.

3. Fees & Policies

How much does it cost?

We make every effort to keep prices affordable. Our pre-recorded courses are free to members, while prices for our live courses are kept as low as possible. Further, some of our events, such as the Ereignis Conference, offer reduced fees for students and unwaged participants. Enrolment fees are listed on the course or event page.

What is your refund policy?

Should a course or event be cancelled for any reason, you will receive a full refund. Registration fees can be paid by credit or debit card, or by bank transfer, both processed securely via Stripe. See our Terms and Policies for more information.

Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?

We do our utmost to offer bursaries, or reduced fees, to particularly deserving students, through our Small Grants/Bursary Fund. Check the course page for availability.

4. Events & Logistics

How do I get to the Ereignis Conference?

Gdynia is about 30 minutes by express train or taxi from the airport in Gdańsk. Train tickets are available at machines at the train stop outside the airport terminal. Make sure you enter the northbound train to Gdynia Główny (main station). From there, you can walk (20 minutes) or take a local taxi to the hotel.

Do I need a visa to attend?

Poland is part of the Schengen Area. Travellers from outside the area should check current visa requirements for their country. We can provide letters of admission to support visa applications.

What accommodation is available?

The Ereignis Conference takes place at Hotel Nadmorski in Gdynia. There is a wide range of hotels and short-term rentals at reasonable prices in the vicinity.

Can I bring family members or friends?

Yes, families are welcome. Please contact us in advance if you require childcare options during the event.

5. Affiliation & Research Integrity

Can I use Ereignis as my institutional affiliation?

Yes. Members may use the Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts as their institutional affiliation for funding applications, paper proposals, essays, and similar academic purposes, provided their work complies with our Affiliation and research integrity policy. This covers eligibility, disclosure, truthful self-representation (including on your Ereignis profile and elsewhere), permissions and attribution, and research practice.
