Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts is recognised as a member of the Research Organisation Registry (ROR), with the ROR ID: https://ror.org/023a3wx51. The Center is happy to serve as an affiliation for members’ good, groundbreaking work. A member of the Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts may use the Center as their institutional affiliation when applying for funding, submitting paper proposals or essays, or in other relevant contexts, provided that the work complies with the following guidelines.

1. Eligibility

The Center may only be used as an affiliation where the work is connected to the Center through a common topic, approach, or practice.

2. Disclosure

The member is obliged to disclose any conflicts of interest, funding, or institutional support.

3. Truthful self-representation

A member using the Center as their institutional affiliation is expected to represent themselves truthfully wherever that affiliation is visible. This applies to the member’s own profile page on ereignis.no and extends more broadly to other settings in which the member’s connection to the Center may appear, such as academic networking platforms or other professional profiles.

Truthful self-representation rules out both outright falsehoods and more subtle forms of misrepresentation. Members should not claim titles, degrees, academic credentials, or affiliations they do not hold, nor should they inflate a curriculum vitae, overstate a position or role, or otherwise create a false impression of their qualifications or achievements. Members are responsible for keeping their profile and public-facing information accurate, and should correct it promptly if it becomes outdated or inaccurate.

4. Permissions and attributions

Copyright and permissions are of crucial importance to artists and in the humanities. By using the Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts as their affiliation, the member agrees to comply with relevant legal and ethical standards governing the use of images and text in their research and publications. In written work, the member upholds proper attribution, citation, and authorship norms. (Our peer-reviewed journal Inscriptions maintains a more detailed policy in this respect.)

5. Research practice

The member is expected to follow recognised ethical research standards in their practice, and to obtain ethics review where human participants, sensitive data, vulnerable groups, or personal materials are involved.

6. The role of the Center

The member should avoid misrepresenting the role of the Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts. Using the Center as an affiliation does not imply that the Center endorses the member’s work, in whole or in part.
