About Ereignis Institute

Director: Dror Pimentel

Ereignis Institute is the educational branch of the Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts. We offer online and on-site courses in philosophy, psychoanalysis, culture, and the arts. Our programme welcomes mature learners, part-time students, and those seeking flexible, non-standardised approaches to study.

Our pedagogical approach

Students today are diverse: many study part-time, outside of traditional academic timelines. Ereignis Institute provides courses that fit this reality. We support students’ preferred pace and style of learning, while encouraging interaction with instructors and peers.

Research shows that students learn best when they interact meaningfully with instructors and peers, feel confident in solving problems, and sense that their instructors care about their learning. Our pedagogy is designed to strengthen these affective outcomes, improving not only learning but also student satisfaction.

To this end, we aim to:

  • Increase student activity and interaction
  • Encourage a sense of mastery and ownership in the learning process
  • Cultivate engagement, moral reasoning, and leadership

Our modules are taught by experienced university lecturers and international scholars. When combined, our courses lead to a diploma issued by the Institute.

What kind of courses do we offer? How do I join a course? These questions and many others are answered in our FAQ.

The Ereignis Center Small Grants/Bursary Fund
