Terms and conditions

The Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts is a non-profit, community-driven organisation dedicated to advancing research, education, and outreach in the philosophical and artistic disciplines. By signing up as a member or by joining one of our events or course modules you agree to these terms and conditions.

Course modules

Ereignis Institute offers on-site and online courses, and pre-recorded modules. Our pre-recorded course modules are free for members and contain many hours of pre-recorded lectures (running time varies with each course). Our on-site and online live seminars take place in Gdynia, Poland, and on Zoom, generally running for 3-6 weeks. Typically our seminars include:

  • Lecture notes, reading lists, and exercises.
  • Access to a dedicated discussion forum where you can engage the instructor and fellow students

Content for each seminar is listed on that seminar’s page. While there are no mandatory assignments or exams with our courses, many of our modules offer optional assignments designed to enable students to check their learning.

Joining a module

All our modules are listed in our course catalogue. On the module page, you will find information about the schedule for the course, the deadline to register, and the price (live seminars only). Register for the module by pressing the Join button. Once we have processed your payment you will be automatically enrolled, and will have access to the course materials and dedicated discussion forums. Please get in touch if you encounter any difficulties with enrolment.

We are happy to issue a course diploma to students who have completed a module with us. This diploma can serve as documentation of your study. To receive your diploma, send us an email.

Events

The Ereignis Seminar is a live monthly seminar held on Zoom every first Wednesday of the month at 16h00 CET. The seminar is open and free to all members. General academic standards for participation apply. The Ereignis Conference is a hybrid (on-site and online) event hosted by Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts and our peer-reviewed journal Inscriptions. Registration for the conference is required for all delegates.

Starting July 2025, all our events will be recorded. By attending a seminar or registering for a conference, you agree to be included in the recording. To remain anonymous, you can use a generic display name, disable your camera, mute your microphone, and apply other anonymization features available in Zoom. Recordings may be shared on our video page or as unlisted videos on YouTube.

Refunds

If for any reason one of our modules or events is cancelled, we will fully refund your fee.

Conditions for use of our discussion forums

Our discussion forum is open to all members of Ereignis Center for Philosophy and the Arts. Additionally, dedicated course module forums are available to students registered for a course module. We welcome comments and active discussion. Please make sure that your post is on topic, constructive and respectful. If you see a comment you think breaches these guidelines send us an email at ereignis@tankebanen.no and help keep discussions polite.
